It does not promise a third-party pass
Every rewrite is scored by our own AI detector and only a passing draft is returned. That is a real check, and it is the only claim we make. What GPTZero, Turnitin or Originality.ai say about the result is outside what we measure — and detectors disagree with each other often enough that we will not translate one into the other.

How to spend the allowance
Use it on drafts that already say what you mean
Paste a passage you could already explain in a conversation. The rewrite is for cadence — even paragraph mass, signposted transitions, a restating close — not for inventing the expertise the page is supposed to demonstrate. Up to 1,200 words in one pass. Longer documents work best split at section boundaries, which also gives you a chance to check each part against the original as you go.
Pick a voice and a depth. Voice is register. Depth is how far the rewrite may move from your original structure. Light is usually enough for an email. Deep is for drafts whose scaffolding is the whole problem. Deeper is not always better. A lightly hedged note will look worse if you ask the model to rebuild it.
Wait for the candidates to be scored. Only a passing draft comes back. If none pass, you are told and the words are refunded. Then read the output. Check numbers, names, dates, and any sentence that used to carry a caveat. Then, if you need to, run the free detector on the result so you can see which sentences still carry signal — the gate already used that detector; the report is how you look at the working.
What this allowance will not buy: a third-party pass we have not measured, unlimited volume, or a licence to submit work you could not explain. A regenerate is a more violent operation than a synonym pass, which is the tradeoff. The rewrite moves sentence boundaries and paragraph mass on purpose. That is why it can change a detector's read, and why it can also change a figure. If you cannot check the output, do not ship it.
